| Artist's statement
Clay nurtures lives; and also buries and decays lives. It also records the cycle of perpetuation and perish in lives. God created man with a handful of soil and a blow of His breath; but if we analyse it from the scientific point of view, our body is composed of just a few types of chemical elements resembling that of clay . In Yim's ceramic and mixed media works, she showed her concern and exploration about the triangular relationship between clay, material body and soul. |
