| Artist's statement
Clay nurtures lives; and also buries
and decays lives. It also records the cycle of perpetuation
and perish in lives. God created man with a handful of soil
and a blow of His breath; but if we analyze analyse it from
the scientific point of view, our body is composed of just a
few types of chemical elements. How does a body made up of materials
turn out to have desires, passions and pursuits in of the soul?
Are all these but the results of the interactions of materials?
Are memories and longings just the sparkles of chains of chemical
reactions? In Yim's my ceramic and mixed media works, she I
showed her my concern and exploration about the triangular relationship
between clay, material and lives. |
