Artist's statement

To know the ingredients of food, you have to check the label carefully. But have you ever thought that a label is just a sticker? I once witnessed a middle-aged woman hastily sticking an apple label onto an orange before opening her fresh fruit stall, and then changing it to another one when she realised her mistake. The incident looked like a child’s game. We often judge things by its label. It says “orange”, “pear”, “banana”…or is it an apple? Does a brand-name banana really taste better? Or is it still just a banana? What lies behind a label is worth thinking about.
